Nice place to eat and enjoy the retro style

Pretty good place for the classic food such as club sandwich and hamburger. The place is small but it's has a nice relax and casual vibe to it.

Awesome. Have been going here with my parents since I was 5, am now here with my girlfriend 10/10. Get the burger.

We have been coming to Quebec for our summer vacation for about 8 yrs or so. We found this little gem about 4 yrs. ago. This has become our traditional last-night-of-vacation go-to place -- sort of a perfect end to a wonderful trip! The burgers and frites are beyond delicious!! The burgers are a reasonable size to thoroughly enjoy without feeling uncomfortably full, even if you eat the perfectly done frites. The toppings are unique and the various burger combinations are well-planned -- each is just delicious!! Over the 4 yrs., between the 2 of us, we have tried most of the burgers, and each one is truly as good as the next. They have a variety of other things which all look really good, but we come for their burgers. They serve breakfast daily, and the menu looks great! We will have to try breakfast next year. The staff are friendly, and the service is excellent!! I strongly recommend this be added to anyone's list of places to try! You will not be disappointed!!

Great experience. Good food, good ambiance. The fries are just amazing and the chomeur pudding very smooth and tasty. Try one or two local beer and you will enjoy the place

Good milkshakes and they had homemade mayo with all types of flavours. The tofu burger was also pretty good with obviously quality ingredients although nothing innovative. But the poutine sauce was too salty - which is a bit disappointing.

The lady was very rude. Spoke english when I clearly speak french. Asked for a tip after not giving some for the bad service.

Beef burger oriented, good fries, limited vegetarian, perky retro ambiance

Perfect place to go if you have never had poutine before. Delicious and authentic. Server was polite and friendly and very patient with my imperfect French. Highly recommend.

I’ve had a poutine at copper branch and Lov. Those poutines could not compete with the poutine at Anecdote. It was the best vegan poutine I’ve ever had. I had other dishes and loved them. I would highly recommend coming here to anyone. The prices are also reasonable and the restaurant is nice and cozy.

Best poutine in town. Perfect fries, and spot in gravy to curds to fries ratio. I also live their veggie burger. Cute vintage diner, and they always play the best music from mid century.

Was in the area trying to find another restaurant which was too busy. Pulled over to park and search for an alternate choice, when we realized L'Anecdote was right beside our vehicle. The staff welcomed us into this classic diner with a warm greeting, and we were very pleased with both the quality and quantity of food. The sliced duck breast "burger," the pesto chicken breast burger, the Greek Salad, and the filet mignon poutine are all an excellent value. The booths are a little tight, but ours was fine for our party of three. And, if you're wondering, you pay at the till.

The food and the service were excellent. The portions are just big enough so you don't feel stuffed after just eating a burger and fries.

Neighborhood restaurant. Menu consists of several variations of Hamburgers and Poutine, the kids liked the Poutine with hamburger meat. The hamburger I ordered was good but the side of fries for most of the hamburgers we ordered had too many small, broken fries rather than the large fries you would expect.

Quiet, quaint little diner style restaurant we stumbled upon. The Poutine la Mignonne was amazing and the Greek salad was fresh and delicious. We really enjoyed it!

Great burger place. So many kinds of patties and lots of varieties of poutine! Kids loved the milkshakes and their hotdogs! Retro feel also adds to the relaxed atmosphere.

I'd argue this is the best poutine I have had in Canada. It had a great little small dinner atmosphere and some very cool retro decor. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the gravy is thick and delicious.

Really friendly place

Delicious, fresh burgers and fries at very fair prices. They also have a large selection of drinks. I had their lemonade; so refreshing.

Horrible service, we ordered two regular poutines and a Perrier. After 45 mins we decided to leave and pay our bill. Our waitress had no idea we didn’t eat and was asking us how we’re paying for the poutines when we didn’t eat one!!!! And she didn’t even apologize correctly, all she said was that the previous customer had ordered a hamburger. Horrible horrible service. She never even checked on us once during the time we were there. I will never return here. Very disappointed with this service

My hamburger was delicious. Service was impeccable. The restaurant has tables further in the back, there is a lot of place there. When full its probably a lot of work for the kitchen! All our dishes were served at the same time even if we were a table of 8 on a saturday. Did not expect such a great deer burger. Will be back to try more burgers soon!

I had some lunch here and it was really great. Nice selection of beer, too!

I don't understand all this negative reviews. I think a second chance is needed. I just went this evening. I had a lamb burger with blue cheese, a hot dog and milkshake. The food was very good for a great price. The service was awesome. All good stuff. Cheers!

Really cute vibe and colors. Decent breakfast!

On a visit this past weekend we ordered 3 burgers and waited almost one hour to get them. Also they were out of milkshakes! The waitress explained that they’ve just reopened after being closed for several months following a fire and the kitchen staff is new (and slow by implication I guess). Management better get this sorted quickly as I’d be reluctant to try it again - lots of places serve good burgers.

Fantastic food (especially the fries and poutine - arguably the best I've had) and great service. Terrace is nothing to write home about but the great decor inside makes up for it. Would go again.

It took an hour to get our food served, the food was good but the service could get better. At one point we were waiting at least 15 minutes for just refill of our water. The staff was still very kind, the owner tried to explain his best why so much delay

Love this place! Great staff and cozy place. Prices are affordable and food is great! We had accidently stumbled upon it and we have no regrets. We will go back very soon

Fast and tasty burger place. No complaints!

The burger was tasteless de chez tasteless.While paying the bill, the cashier refused to take a 100 cad banknote and I don't reckon seeing a clear written note stating the above.

Went on their website and made an order for pickup for a certain amount, showed up at the restaurant and the guy at the counter said those were the wrong prices, it was actually 30% more per order. You would expect him to apologize and honor the price listed on his website but he didn't. Apparently it was our fault for not having landed on "the new website" Gave us some excuse about it being google's fault. Also didnt include a fork in the bag for the salad. Hamburger was very good but that's it. Tried to find the supposed new website after I went back to the office but still can't find. Will not be going back.

Hubs and I popped in for a quick bite. I had a carrot cake, I actually like it and it tasted so good with the whipped cream! I wished it was more moist though, it was abit dry. The hubs ordered a classic burger and as a person who loves burgers, he felt it was not too bad and worth going again if one needs a quick bite around the area. Love the retro ambience as well.

Had the duck burger and it was great. My friends enjoyed their beef and veal burgers.

Went there a couple of times for breakfeast and for hamburgers. Food is good. Place is a classic dinner. If you are in a hurry this is a good spot, but otherwise nothing very special.

I could write pages and pages but IT'S SIMPLY THE BEST BURGER IN TOWN !. The Anecdote Classic is a masterpiece. Take the time to say hi to the owners, Catherine and Eddie, they are very friendly people.

Great little burger joint on the corner. authentic atmosphere that includes stainless steel flashing on the furniture and music from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Decent vegetarian options available.

A cute fastfood with history, friendly staff and good food.

This place is fantastic. It's a small space with awesome retro decor and the feel of a genuine neighborhood joint. The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly portioned, plus they come with both a green salad and fries all for an exceptionally reasonable price. I had been searching for place like this in Montreal, and now that I've found it I know I'll be back again.

Cosy place that fits the diner aesthetic well. It's pretty standard as far as diners go but there doesn't seem to be anything particularly special about the place.
